What are your excesses costing you?

What are your excesses costing you?

A few weeks ago this Turkish series trended on Netflix – As the crow flies.

It was suspenseful, and interesting, giving all the fashion gives I didn’t even know I needed,

and I couldn’t stop watching.

I watched this movie overnight and when I looked up, it was 5 am and my alarm was ringing –

time to get my army ready for the day.

Kids to school,

Husband to work,

and everything in between.

Safe to say that I spent the rest of the day moving like a zombie.

That’s what Netflix or whatever thing you let take up the space of the things that are good for you costs you.

It’s not the subscription money, $10 is really not what it takes from you

It’s the 6 hours of watch-time,

hours you could be working on your dreams,

or resting so you can be energized to work on your dreams.

What are your excesses costing you?

Am I saying don’t watch Netflix?

I’m not the enjoyment grinch,

I’m saying moderation.

I’m saying don’t give out time you don’t really have.

You see, I’ve learned quite a few things in the course of building my business,

and one big lesson is that no one can be disciplined on your behalf,

and nothing you do can take the place of discipline in your life.

Do you think the big sharks got where they are by slacking?

The Mark Zuckerbergs, the Okonjo Iwealas, the Oprahs!

Do you think they fed their excesses at the expense of their dreams?

I don’t know what your dream is,

but it’s got to come before the wants.

It’s time to ask: What are your excesses costing you?

This newsletter is for me as much as it is for you.

It doesn’t matter whether you have a flashy job or a new business you’re running from your phone,

Show up as the badass you will be!

And share this with your tribe, it might be just the thing they need!
